CANCELLED: Mahler and the Late Romantics

  • Saxmundham, England, IP17 1SR United Kingdom (map)

Due to the outbreak of Covid-19 this has sadly been cancelled.

“Anne Schwanewilms is one of today’s finest lieder recitalists, appearing regularly in Europe and abroad in addition to her busy operatic schedule at the world’s major opera houses and concert venues. For this course, Anne joins forces with her regular duo partner, Malcolm Martineau – one of the world’s greatest accompanists.

They explore the sound world and texts of Mahler’s works for voice & piano and that of his lesser performed contemporaries such as Korngold and Pfitzner.

In addition to 1:1 lessons and public masterclasses with Schwanewilms and Martineau, course participants will enjoy sessions on their chosen repertoire’s texts and poetry with Lied specialist Richard Stokes, as well as German coaching by Franziska Roth.

Additionally participants will have voice lessons with Julia Faulkner, who through her sensitive and supportive teaching style has become a firm favourite amongst the BPYAP alumni.

Public Masterclasses: 22 – 27 June 2020
Final Concert: 28 June 2020 as part of the Aldeburgh Festival”
